Is Dish about to play hardball in AK?

I just got my regular weekly update from "ANON". Looks like KING, NBC from Seattle is uplinked to the Alaskla spot beam on channel 7049! As you know the Anchorage ABC and NBC affiliates want more for their signal that Dish is willing to pay.

So, here is my guess. I think Dish is going to start including KING on the Anchorage locals to anyone that qualifies for NBC. Anchorage is an enormous DMA and the local NBC affiliate does not have total coverage. Anyway, I think this is interesting!

Well, Dish is doing exactly what I thought.

KING 5 (NBC Seattle) will be available as part of the Anchorage local package to those who qualify for a distant NBC station. Those who can get KING will pay $5.99 for the locals. those who can't will pay $4.99 until the local NBC affiliate can strike a deal with Dish. After seeing what Dish is doing, this may not be any time soon!

Way to go DISH! I love this.
