Is there any way to get to anyone who cares at dishnetwork to get a EPG listing problem solved?

It has to do with WXXV.
The listing for WXXV-0 is correct, but I don't use that channel since it is down converted to SD (Dish is only giving SD locals in my market).

The listing for WXXV-1 (an OTA channel) should be identical to the listing for WXXV-0. WXXV is a Fox channel. Instead, the EPG shows programs for some CBS channel, I think it's channel 2 in New Orleans.

I expected a "correction" adding the EA 9423 HDNMV to the preview. Anyone EA only without Platinum HD who can confirm or deny if their 9423/383 is in preview?

I am EA 250 without platinum and I'm seeing 9423 but no 383 mapdown in the guide.

I did a check switch earlier today around 2pm or so after I had rescanned for locals, but I hadn't noticed if 383 was there before or after since I blocked out all the platinum channels after I dropped it. When I go to All Channels, there is no 383 but there is the 9423. I'll try another check switch later on tonight after I finish my movie.

Apparently your channel 9423 (eastern arc from 72.7) which does not have the "preview" flag set in the data we see is showing up in preview. My expectation was that without that "preview" flag set pure eastern arc customers would not be seeing the channel.

The only explanation I have is the "referral channel" that P Smith and I have talked about in previous threads. 9423 @ 72.7 has that referral channel descriptor pointing at the other 9423 in the system (the one at 110). 9423 @ 110 does have the "preview" flag set. Apparently besides sharing EPG (in this case between 9423 @ 72.7 and 9423 @ 110) the "preview" flag is also passed through. But not the mapdown. (The mapdown is present on 9423 @ 72.7 but without subscription or a preview/free flag on 9423 @ 72.7 the mapdown isn't showing on the receiver.)

Complicated, but interesting. The other option would be a "TV Japan" style freebee in EPG data but why would DISH put this free preview via the EPG and not use the simple flag in the regular channel descriptor data?

Yes! I think the E* engineers are just playing games with the various bits, and watching to see what the various uplink reports say about it, and what theories people may postulate about them as they try to reverse-engineer the data. They're messing with your minds, trying to frustrate you!
