I know this subject has been hashed and re-hashed but this issue really bugs me. For me one station is the culprit and that is TNT. After all these years why oh why do they still have this problem? Why is it sometimes worse than other times? Why does it seem to be only them? (I know some other stations also have this problem but TNT stands out like a burning beacon). I was just watching Bones and had to turn it off because it was soooo bad. Does Directv have this same problem? How about Cox or Comcast or Verizon? I asked Dish and was told it's TNT's problem. Sorry Dish but if it's my problem than it's your problem. The blame game, don't ya just love it?

For TNT on Directv it can be great for weeks then be off sync at random times. Right now, L&O is synced ok.

TNT and TBS are the worse about the issue. Normally I would side that its a Dish signal issue, but with TBS and TNT having problems with so many different carriers, as even my father in laws Time Warner Cable has issues, I put the issue back on Turner.

I guess I'm wondering why TNT and TBS continues to be the huge leader in having this problem. There are some really smart technical people here that may understand the issue. Has anybody from Dish offered any information or has TNT or TBS responded to questions in the past? It's certainly not a matter of great importance but the problem has been bantered about for some time here now. Years actually.

Thats a good question. Another one, would be why is TNT and TBS HD, so horrible with syndicated shows as well. Only ABC Family is worse.

MAV HD has been pretty bad depending on the program.

The problem starts at the content provider.

I sure hope they get their act together before Conan debuts. Sadly, I wouldn't bet the farm on that hapening but I can HOPE.

For me I get lip sync issues on FNC programs that have been recorded to the DVR. Live feed is fine, but sometimes the sync goes off. Perhaps it's due to the commercial skipping I do, the sync sometimes is worse after I forwarded past the spots.

Over the years I've read some sophisticated technical answers but I guess the bottom line is WHY STILL? USA doesn't have the problem, SciFi doesn't have the problem, ESPN doesn't have the problem. So I guess whatever the problem is, why hasn't someone fixed it yet? What would they do without watch dogs like us?

Actually, this is a problem that happens when the human auditory system is not synced with the visual system. People with elongated eyeballs are most susceptible since it takes light longer to reach the optic nerve. If you pull gently up and backward on your ears you can usually get it adjusted.

Yes, DirecTV does have the same problem. Lots of Channels.
If you are running your sound thru an AV receiver try this,
Turn your TV speakers on. You will most likely get and echo.
Adjust the delay of the Audio in your AV receiver to match the TV.
I had to set my Yamaha at -120 Miliseconds to Synch.

How does that effect stations that are not broadcasting an synch problem?
