New Jackson, MS FOX channel to be on air September 7

According to The Clarion-Ledger, the new FOX affiliate for Jackson, WUFX FOX 35, will debut on September 7 at 11am, one hour before the pre-game show for the New Orleans Saints first game of the season.

WUFX is located near Edwards, MS, which is halfway between Jackson and Vicksburg. The tower is roughly 800 feet tall and will broadcast the signal on UHF channel 35 at 5 million watts.

I have not heard any word on whether E* or D* has secured retransmission rights to the new station.

The Saints First game of the season is in Seattle and it's supposed to start @ 3 P.M. Central time from Seattle on Fox. Maybe they are going to Debut at 11 a.m. Central time Sunday September 7th for Fox's NFL Sunday Pre Game Show? But the Saints Game is later that afternoon. :D

I just got a response back from an employee stating that WUFX FOX35 in Jackson has indeed signed a retransmission agreement with DirecTV.

Debut date will be indefinitely delayed due to shooting at tower on August 31st. See the following post for more details:

D* had the Saints game on in the Jackson DMA, not the Falcons game like the national feed.

According to the Clarion-Ledger, FOXNet would broadcast the Saints game. Since D* provides FOXNet, I figured that D* subscribers would get it.

ALSO, they report that Hinds Co. SD has a suspect in the tower shooting. They are waiting for results of a gunpowder residue test, before confirming this.

The D* EPG showed the Falcons game even though the Saints were on, so I thought that's what FoxNet had.
