Taking the step to remove the mapdowns for those Disney HD feeds currently in dispute certainly doesn't seem like positive news.

Taking the step to remove the mapdowns for those Disney HD feeds currently in dispute certainly doesn't seem like positive news.The mapdowns were not removed ... they were changed to a different type. The new type is the one used on RSNs where keying the mapdown number when the channel isn't airing HD content jumps to the SD channel instead of the HD. As long as the channels are unavailable it doesn't make a difference, but movement is movement. It is better than seeing the channels completely pulled from the system.

It is possible that DISH may put up "ABC/Disney has pulled this content" complaint channels in the HD slots leaving the mapdowns but allowing subscribers to key "1 4 2" and get ESPNews instead of the complaint channel (and the same for 172, 174 and 180). Hopefully what happens is better than that.

So now it seems that all the local in HD for Wichita are uplinked including PBS. so any idea when we can expect them to be turned on or just whenever dish feels like it. Ive been waiting for over a year now, :mad::mad:

Soon is the only answer ... there was a court hearing this week on PBS-HD. It is possible DISH is holding the new markets back pending the outcome of that hearing.
