good day -- I have Cablevision at the moment. But want to switch to DISH Network. Should I wait till Rainbow 1 is up and running. On that note - any one have any up to date info?

DirecTV is out for me as the local channels for DTV are blocked by my neigbors tree. On that note any word when E* will be offering locals in CT?

thanks in advance.

You will need to see 119 and 110 to get all of dishnetworks chanels. I have herd that CT locals are comming to Dishnetwork by the end of 2003. If you can't see 119 because of a tree in the way then you will be missing the core sat signals for Dishnetwork. You could get eather Dish or Directv by using two dishes instead of one. Locate the 101 or 110 sat in one location and the 119 in another spot and link them using a multiswitch. As for Rainbow 1, that service is suposed to have niche and HD content. No locals. you would get your locals off air using an antenna and the HD decoder. I would go for Dishnetwork or Directv right now. Rainbow 1 is too much of a gamble for a new supscriber now. I myself am looking forward to Rainbow's service since I want more HD content.

I have a Dish500 dish already mounted on the house (which works fine) -- but I switched to only cable about 2 years ago. since i wanted locals and wanted more then one set to have a feed.

now I'm also looking for some non-sports based HDTV as well.
