We have six receivers on our account. We signed up on the Digital Home Plan with which we leased 4 receivers and bought two 2800s. We have since upgraded the two 2800s to a 721 and a 508. While I wouldn't have been to worried about service coverage for the 2800s (although we did get the $1.99 warranty), I definitely want the 721 and 508 to be covered.

What I'm actually writing about is that the reps at Dish Network (they said they confirmed it with a supervisor) are saying that all six of our receivers are covered by the in home service plan, that we don't need the $1.99 extended warranty, and that the computer won't even allow for it.

I was wondering does anyone else have six receivers on the DHP and have they been told that all are covered without the $1.99 extended warranty. I sure would hate to have something happen to one of the receivers we own and have Dish Network say they are not covered.

By the way, we paid an arm and a leg for the 721 but got the 508 fairly recently for $149 delivered and installed.

Since you pay the $4.99 a month lease fee that is supposed to cover labor and hardware if anything would go wrong with any receiver on the account. Those that are not on DHP can get the same coverage for $4.99 that includes the labor. For $1.99 it does not include the labor. I still think they charge $30 anyways for coming out under the $4.99 deal if you do not have DHP so I dont know why they advertise free labor. I guess its a trip charge for coming out and going back and not for the actual labor while they are there.

With DHP you are covered for all DISH branded equipment you have wether it is leased or not. You do not need to carry any additional service policy. Digital Home Plan is great for customers, you may not own the equipment but you have better protection than you would owning it.
