I had heard the same thing, but did not notice any difference.

Pretty much the same except for my local's (Louisville MSA) which I only had 4 of and were SD on the WA and are now I have 7 channels and all are HD on the EA. Had to switch with the VIP922. They will ONLY install it on the EA. No troubles so far and should be even better when Echostar 15 goes live at 61.5.

I noticed right away that my mpeg4 SD channels were of higher quality than the mpeg2 counterparts. There is no difference in HD, as all HD is mpeg4, IIRC.

What are the 7 HD locals that you are receiving? I didn't think E* had that many available?

I didn't think E* had that many available?DISH is currently required to carry all locals in HD in 15% of the markets where they carry any market in HD. Most of those markets will be smaller markets (easier to fit on a transponder) but seven isn't bad.
Next February the threshold will increase to where 30% of markets carried in HD must have all available HD channels carried.
