I was at my local Sears today and picked up latest Free DVR and Free For All E* promotion brochures, I noticed that the Free DVR one is just the normal Free DVR510 with the monthly sevice fee and Free 301 with 2-year commitment or just the 510 for one year commitment. however the Sears version of Free For ALL was the fee Free DVR508, $149 for single 301 with 15 $10 monthly credits or $199 for two 301 system and 20 $10 monthly credits and for a $200 upgrade, a DVR508 with no monthly dvr fee. It appears that at least through Sears anyway, new subs can choose between getting the DVR510 for Free with its larger hard drive and the monthly dvr fee or pay $349-$399 and get $10 credit for 15-20 months and get the DVR508 with smaller hard drive and no pvr monthly service fees. Out of curiosity, can you dealers do the Free For All deal with the fee Free DVR508 or is this deal exclusive to Sears and JVC?

Chris a dealer could probably do the same deal but on todays Dealer Chat Charlie announced that the 508 is out of inventory and except for a few Remanufacrured units that may show up they are gone. Whatever inventory a dealer has is what will be available. DHP has been extended to the end of october and 501/508s can be used in that promotion. There are 501 remans. available according to Charlie and they can be used for PVR FEE FREE use.

Their is a possibility that Sears and or JVC may still have some 508's left to supply the Sears version of the Free For All promotion.

I have been led to believe that Dish came out with a $ 99 deal for the 510 today for current subs with either a 2 or 3 year commit with free install and shipping.

The *******s at Houston DNSC gave me a refurb 501 when I added a PVR to my DHP account (about 8 months after originally signing up at Sears).

Where can I find more info on that promotion, dave? I looked all over dishnetwork.com and couldn't find anything like what you just mentioned. I am very interested if it's true.

Just got off the telephone with Dishnet and they stated that there is a current offer for current subs to get a DVR 510 for $ 99. This does include the install. You do have to call Dish and ask them about it. You do need a 2 year commit and I believe at least the At 100 package.

This offer does run to September 30, 2003.

I called too, the thing that pissed me off though is I work during the only hours they could come out and install the dish, I told them I don't need it installed and that I am just going to replace one of my current receivers with the dvr. They said they couldn't let me do it, that someone HAD to come out and hook it up for me, so I had to pass on the offer. Does this sound right to you guys? Do you think if I called back and talked to a manager I could get them to send it to me and let me hook it up? I really want to get this thing real soon so I can start recording the OU football games.

Just set up the install, give them your work number. The installer will call to verify time and tell him he just has to drop it of at your convenience.

He'll be thrilled that he doesn't have to do anything, that's what I did last year on a 501 upgrade(made him give me a new not remaned. aslo). He came at 8:00PM.

I have my buckeyes national championship game on pvr watch it all the time. You'll never watch another football game again without pvr.

Maybe we will get to show Stoops what he passed up in New Orleans. If you guys can make it? Coach Tressel would of brought Stoops father along as one of his staff, but Mr. Stoops thought it wouldn't be right.
