GAC to add 'Opry'

Shouldnt DirecTV sign an agreement deal with this network with the network adding a popular show? Dish has a deal (which I do not think is exclusive) for GAC, and the channel cost per subscriber for this network is cheap.

I personally would like to see it added to D*. CMT has moved away from being a music station to being a country version of MTV.

....OR VH1. I never watch GAC, but my radio station runs ads for it. (They get a satellite format from Jones Media, which owns GAC.)

With other country video channels, such as GAC & VH1 Country, and with the absence of a channel like The Nashville Network, there is probably a good market for MTV-like country music oriented programming.

Yeah the Viacom execs really strees to make CMT more like MTV. I remember when CMT used to be a decent channels. I'd trade both CMT and GAC in for VH-1 Country. GAC is good for the classics though, when country was country, not 'Nashville Pop'
