HDMI issues with 612

I have a Phillips 47" 47PFL5432D/37 and a VipDVR 612 sat reciever, I cannot get the LCD to keep video and audio going with any HDMI cable BUT it will work on a 37" Magnivox I have, and the one on the Magnivox I put on the Phillips 47" 47PFL5432D/37 and again that VipDVR 612 would not work either.

What it is doing it cycling on and off both video and audio goes from being on seeing and hearing it to totally black/blank no video no audio, Yet I can put my Sony DVD player, PS3, Xbox360 ect to HDMI and I have NO ISSUE.


Can anyone help me with this?

use component & forget about the hdmi.

It's a software issue that Dish will have to fix, and as you can see, replacing the hardware does nothing to fix a software issue.

Truth be told, it's likely a problem with your TV, but Dish's software that controls the HDMI isn't as forgiving as many other devices, but it may also be that there are simply bugs in Dish's software. Either way, you'll have to wait while they fix it. Use Component in the meantime.

Thing is the PS3 Xbox 360 and Blue Ray DVD player work fine NO issues via HDMI Just with the DVR 612 tried 4 total and NONE work with HDMI, but on a Magnavox 37" all 4 work fine.

I had a similar problem with 612 when I got a new tv (Sony) and my 722 worked fine with the same set, a replacement 612 worked fine

While I am a Directv sub, I can tell you from personal experience that many Philips hd tv sets have problems working correctly with HDMI inputs (especially satellite and cable boxes). I had similar issues with a Philips tv, replaced it with a Sony and no problems now.

How is Vizio, Sony Samsung, Sanyo, LG?

I use a Vizio with the 612 with no issues.

walmart has a few Vizio's one has LED ect.... 42" dunno if they have a 46 or 47 in led back lit ect....
