Just looking to save a little money. Wondering if everyone is still paying for DVR fees. My bill looks like this:
America's Everything Pak $99.99
Solo DVR Receiver $10.00
Duo DVR Receiver $17.00
DVR Service $6.00
.................
Total $132.99 (excludes taxes / credits)
No HD yet, will be adding it soon!

Except for the one Duo DVR Receiver you apparently must have that they are not charging for, we all are similarly paying for additional receivers and the one DVR service fee. HD is free now.

HD is free now.
Not exactly. There is a promotion that will waive the HD fee IF you do certain things:
- Either sign up for credit-card autopay and paperless billing, and a commitment, or
- Pay a one-time $99 fee and a commitment.
"Free" implies that no one pays it anymore, when I'd bet that the majority still do.

Yeah, the DVR fees actually prompted me to deactivate my 508 and buy a 211 so I could get a HD DVR (w purchase of EHDD) and not change the fees I was paying....it's worked out great

... one DVR service fee.
Not exactly. The one $6 fee for the account applies to the first receiver. Each additional DVR runs $3/mo more than the equivalent non-DVR.

I thought the dvr fee was waived for subs to AEP. I have to check my bill. And isn't the 508/501 dvr fee free? I remember when they came out that was one of the selling points.

It used to be waived for AEP, but no longer...

I remember when they came out that was one of the selling points. The 501 and 508 are considered "Solo Receivers" and not DVRs for the sake of billing. The per account fee is not charged unless there is a 510 or newer DVR on the account and the "extra receiver fee" for having a 501 or 508 remains $7 instead of the usual Solo DVR $10.
AEP lost the "free DVR" feature in February when the price of AEP was dropped $3.
What a pisser I have to check my bills more carefully.

AEP should be $99.99 ... a $106.99 value (AT250 + 4 premiums).
Do you have Playboy? That seems to adjust the prices to come up with $106.99.

I'm over the Superstations since KBCW asked Dish to removed KTLA from my account.

The 211 or 211k with EHD (external hard drive USB2.0 $80.00) and one time activation fee of $40 is the only exception to the rule of not having a monthly DVR fee.
Note: this HD DVR has only one satellite tuner and one off air tuner,Dish won't allow remote scheduling or on demand with the EHD.
I'm very happy with my 211k and EHD.:)
