I remember seeing a post showing the differences between the 921 and JVC's version.
Since JVC will also have a model like the 921 is it possible that they will have the dishwire enabled so that it can be used with their DVHS from day one?

I read before that the JVC 9000VR (or whatever its name was) has been cancelled.

From what I've heard, there will be a JVC branded Dish 921 receiver, but it won't be out until after the Dish 921s are released. No word about whether the Dishwire will be enabled in the JVC branded model, but I would doubt it, as it will be exactly the same as the Dish branded version.
I know that the Dish 921 engineering team is working very hard to get as many features into the 921 before release, and will continue working very hard to get the rest of the features into the software as soon as possible. What they want to avoid this time around is some of the fiasco they went through with the 721 upon its release. I'm hoping that the rest of the 921 features will be released in a software upgrade by the end of the year.

If they want to avoid another 721 fiasco they would be well advised to have stabilized the software months before November release.
I have never been on a complex software project where the project plan allows for last minute software changes (except bug fixes found in beta, of course). To do otherwise is a well known recipe for disaster on something as complex as a PVR. These lessons have been learned the hard way on countless software projects in the past 15-20 years, many of which have resulted in the 'early retirement' of software managers or dissolution of their companies.
