Hi all --
I was about to sit down to watch CBS-HD football and Dish blacked me out. Now I know that the NFL has rules on out of market games (I'm in California and have the CBS-E feed), but if that is the case, why is the game on my Denver network package not blacked out? Both games are different from what is playing on my local (San Francisco) affiliate. What gives?

I'm blacked out here in Denver as well with the CBS-W feed.

The CBS HD games are exclusive to Directv. Only those in LA(via CBS HD-W), NY(via CBS HD-E) or "white" areas will receive CBS HD Games on Dish.

I am in the San Francisco Bay Area and watching the game in HD just fine. I receive the West Coast feed out of LA. The picture is of course brilliant. I only wish the ESPN game tonight and the Monday night game on ABC were going to be available.

I'm in a "white area" (closest signal cones from almost 90 miles away). I still get squat from CBS-E. Oh well, at least I'll have ESPN HD soon......

I'm in Thousand Oaks, CA and I got it on CBS-W HD. My guess is that those closer to San Diego did not.

That's not quite true. We received the San Diego/Kansas City game today on our local CBS affiliate today.
It does look like the rules CBS is applying will severly restrict wihch HD games each local affiiliate can carry on any given week, though. As our local describes it, they can carry the HD games only if the game is the one they are "assigned" to carry on their analog channel.
Maybe some complaints to CBS corporate could get them to loosen up that policy. It's a real shame that opportunites for us to view the weekly HD games is being so restricted.

vicw,I was referrring to DBS services, not OTA.
tjguinn, KPIX is a CBS owned station so maybe the blackout also excludes CBS O&O's as well.
