My 508 stops recording when I am recording a show and if I hit the channel guide button and then leave the guide to resume watching the program the 508 will just stop recording. It only happens if I am recording and hit the channel guide button and doesn't stop recording until I leave the grid. Right after leaving the grid an on screen display says "The Recording Has Been Stopped" I NEVER gave any command to stop the recording.
This is particularly annoying because if I see a promo for a show I have to wait until I am done recording until I can use the Guide again.
I do not use the PIP mode and instead use the full screen grid display. I suspect the fact I use this display option may be part of the problem but I really prefer the full screen display view.

I thought this would have been addressed in the last update but since it still has not been fixed maybe Echostar is unaware of the problem. I have learned to live with this quirk but would appreciate a fix.

Do you hit 'Cancel' to leave the grid? That's happened to me sometimes, I hit Cancel to leave the EPG, but I guess the box thinks I hit Cancel re: the recording.
I sometimes use PIP and sometimes use full grid; I don't recall if it's done that on both settings.

Just tried it on mine, with either guide, full or partial with PIP, it does not stop the recording. I tried it with manual user stop and stop at end of event. Try yours with a PIP guide and let us know if you have the same problem. Also, what software version are you on?

As a matter of fact I did hit cancel to leave the grid. This might be the problem.

I will try the PIP option but I suspect the cancel button might be the culprit because I always use the cancel button to exit the grid.
