I am getting upgraded this week to HD. I currently have a 522 and a couple of 508's (I think).
Anyways, I'm just wondering what receivers I will end up with ? I see they have both 622's and 722's. I would rather get one of the newer models; just worried that I'll end up with an older 622.
Are they still using 622's for upgrades ?

That's hard to say... In theory they shouldn't be... but I only know that they stopped making 622s a while back.
I've posted a few times about my attempt earlier in the year (January) to try and upgrade my 622 to another 722... and they shipped me a 622! And long story short, they told me they had no way to guarantee specifically a 722 vs a 622 on an upgrade like that.
Not sure if they handle an SD-to-HD upgrade differently though.

Thanks for the reply - guess we'll see what he/she shows up with.
On another note - I posted this over on another forum. Wondering if anyone here has thoughts ??

I am getting upgraded to HD this week and also having the location of the dish moved to a different location (wife didn't like it where it was). Since the new location is a bit difficult, I got the pole in the ground for the installer and also ran RG-6 into the house. The jacket isn't orange, but it was rated for direct burial and also was swept for whatever it needed to be (can't recall now).
Is the installer not going to use the cable that is there ? I ran it myself because I don't believe he would want to do it (it is underground, then through my 2-story shed, then back underground into the house). It's a complicated run because of the layout of my narrow lot with a 100+ year old stone wall with steps - only way to run it was through the shed.

Actually found the original question I asked 2+ years ago when I purchased the cable...hopefully the same holds true now!
"It is copper coated steel, solid copper would be better. It is swept tested to 2200, 3000 would be better. YES it will work and that price is great if it will stay in that range."
