View Full Version : reasons dishpro sucks
Serious Problem

DishPro receivers are more jittery than legacy receiver (and DIRECTV receivers). Most notably, on DishPro receivers it is impossible to watch any sporting event as drop frames are a common occurrance, that is...piece of time missing from the broadcast and the picture starts to skip over the programming and it turns into a slide show instead of normal television streaming. (a herky jerky picture). ....."NOT PIXELIZATION!"
This does not happen on Legacy or DIRECTV receivers. And since it is all DishPro now-a-days, ...if you want sports, you can forget about getting DIP Network!

I haven't seen this on my Dishpro systems. I just switched from a legacy to Dishpro and I would say in my case it has been more reliable and better picture.

I shocked the bejeezus out of myself installing a dp34 switch, but other than that, I've had no issues with mine..

What receiver are you using?

This problem sounds like common 501/8 bug. When it happens, sound goes away and picture skips frame like VCR in x2 mode. Quick turn-off turn-on solves it.

Get a new replacement receiver or have someone look at your setup to see if you have all dishpro lnbs etc. I find the dishpro line much better than the legacy line. I even saw a difference in picture quality . Of course I might be imagining that one. :sure:

There shouldn't be a difference in picture quality, but I did get a slightly stronger signal strength when I switched to dishpro.
Come on guys. "Serious Problem" is obviously a troll.
Either that or he has a serious mental problem to make such a sweeping statement that is obviously wrong.
