721 rebooting

Has any one been experiencing random reboots with the 721...ex watching a show and screen freezes then reboots....watch a recorded show when it got to the end it rebooted...trying to set a timer and then reboots...this is only happening a few times so far not sure if i should call and get a replacement before it dies completely or if it is a current issue! i had the 721 since 01/03 and never had issues til now im one of the few that is actually happy with 721 except for lack of updates! hope this makes sense! :confused:

Get a replacement. I watched mine die a slow death over a month and wish I had acted sooner instead of trying to troubleshoot. Mine lasted 13 months and I bought the $1.99 service contract. Thank God.

I have a 721 on the way. Do you get the service contract from Dish or the dealer?

1 yr. warranty through dish! call and they send you a replacement...when you first buy unit you get first yr. free then after that you have option to sign up for another yr. for $1.99

Thanks Bob. I look at the PVR like a laptop computer. We run ours until the extended warranty poops out, three years most of the time, and then the first time it crumps after that, upgrade time. There is just no fix to an older laptop. I bet PVRs are the same way.
