Can someone give me an opinion on how good a OTA receiver the 6000 is. Is it sensitive? How does it compare to some of the other OTA receivers (i.e. the Samsung 151)?

As someone who has both the 6000 and the 151 hooked up in tandem, I can say that the Samsung has a more sensitive tuner than the 6000. When I can't get the 6000 to lock on certain channels, I go to the 151 and it locks just fine. The 6000 does better screen adjustments than the 151 however, IMO.

In general it is pretty safe to say the 6000 is one of the worst, if not the worst, OTA tuner on the market today. Its also one of the first to be generally available.

Even on strong signals I get frequent drop outs from interference caused by general aviation (small planes) and from a baby monitor!

Not to get off subject here, but I seem to remember reading on one of the forums that the 921 will have to same OTA tuner as the 6000. It also seems like the 811 was going to have a "newer" or better tuner.

Does anyone remember this. It would be a shame to put the "worse" tuner in the higher cost receiver.

I agree with bobby94928 Samsung much better than 6000. The 6000 must be connected to a DISH system to function as an over the air tuner. If you have rain fade and the 6000 looses satellite lock your over the air signal is also gone, the Samsung 151 will still work but you may also experience signal loss depending on how good your OTA signal is.
