Directv is offering 5,000 free Directv School systems to schools that apply and are accepted. The programming is also free. The stations on the Directv School system are:

"Among the channels included in the package are BBC America, The Biography Channel, Canal Sur, CNBC, CNN, CNN en Espanol, C-SPAN/C-SPAN2, Discovery Channel, The Health Network, The History Channel, TLC, National Geographic Channel, Noggin, PBS, TechTV, Univision and The Weather Channel, to name a few. In addition, NASA TV is also a part of the SCHOOL CHOICE package and is exclusive to DIRECTV customers."

If you think your kid's school could use this, forward the link to the school's principal. Seems like a good program to me. YMMV.

NASA TV is exclusive to DIRECTV customers? what?

Doesn't NASA TV come in even on unactivated/no AT-package DISH Network receivers?

It is just another marketing "white lie".

Yes as a matter of fact. We had an unactivated reciever and NASA TV was the only channel coming in free.
