Dish Model 6000 Special to be Handled by Dish

My local professional Dish dealer just called me and said the $199 6000 deal is to be handled by Dish Network. He also said the 8VSB tuner is not part of that deal. He was returning my call from yesterday.

He also said they (Dish) didn't have a whole lot of 6000s to peddle. What that means I don't know. 1,000, 10,000 200,000 units?

I'll guess they have no more than 8,000 units to move. Plus, I bet I'm wrong by a factor of almost 2. :)

I would also bet most of the 6000 for that promotion are REMANUFACTURED seeing they had to discontinue production the end of July 2002. They didn't meet FCC requirements for closed captioning on HDTV channels.
