PS3 2 or 3 Years Old

Folks. I bought a PS3 a while back to use as a Blu-Ray player. Once Blu-Ray Players came down, I bought one of those that's matched to my TV (Samsung). Currently, I don't use the PS3 very much, but I'm thinking about dusting it off and doing some gaming again since I got a new 55 inch Samsung LED 3d tv. Literally, I probably haven't turned it on in 18 months. How do I go about downloading any new firmware, etc. that needs to be done. Will it pop up and ask me about it?

if it hasn't been used in that long, I suggest you blow it ff with an air compressor to remove any dust ;)

At any rate, once you turn it on, simply go to the main setup menu and select to check for updates via the internet. It will lead you step by step at that point.
