Last night it was acting kinda funky, kept getting Tuner 2 lost sat
I checked the dish, swapped the cables at the LNB still tuner 2
I then swapped the cables on the back of the unit
Now it was tuner 1 Ok...bad cable or connector no prob I'll do that up today


This morning only has the record light on
I'm not home rite now so have little more details

Wife did a RBR Nothing, just the record light
Unplugged fo 5 mins... Nothing just Record light
She SAYS when she tries to turn it on there is nothing...no Dirctv welcome screen no blue light

Could it be that there is just no sat signal?

A record light on with nothing else is usually an indicator that the harddrive has failed.

One last thing you can try is to unplug it for 30 minutes and then plug it back in.

I agree. That's what happened when my R15 bit the dust.

More likely, the power supply has died. The record light on-dead DVR scenario was reported by many posters in the past. Also, a bad hard drive will not cause ONE of the TUNERS to fail before the bitter end when nothing works...

Also, if the HD is dead, you will get "your DirecTV receiver is starting up"..blah blah blah. But not if the power supply is dead.

Spoke to D* the girl declared the DVR dead and I'm getting a replacement shipped out :(
