My current setup:

Duo DVR Model522
Duo Model 322G
(Both of the receivers are in the far corner of the house in basement. All receiver to TV connections are RG6) Using UHF for the remotes.
Total of 7 TV’s in house.
Recently new HDTV in AV room that we want HD programming on.

Looking at upgrading to the 722k

My question is will the RG6 deliver “true” HD signal and Dolby 5.1?

OR, will I have to move the new 722k close to the TV to use a shorter HDMI cable?
OR, buy 75-100' HDMI from mono and fish it thru the finished part of the basement....

Reason I ask is it seems to me that it would take considerable re-wiring to move the new receivers across the entire basement to be close to the HDTV.
And, if that is indeed the case I might rethink this more…

Thanks, T

If you are referring to carrying the HD signal from the receiver to the tv, then yes you need HDMI either a long cable or move the receiver closer to the tv.

RG6 won't carry HD from the receiver to the TV but if you have twin RG6 run you may be able to move the receiver closer to the TV and use the RG6 to carry the sat signal to the receiver. That will depend on how the switch(es), etc. are setup.

Another option would be to fish twin Cat5 or 6 cables and use an HDMI extender, thereby leaving the receiver where it is now.

DLink offers a lot of HD wireless options. I find their website "messy," but you might want to take a look to see if they have a solution.
