Dish came by the house and replaced my two disk setup with one larger disk. I now get some HD channels I did not get with the old setup (AMC and TCM are two). The 4 way switch I had to use to split the signals to the three receivers (2 622s, 1 211k) has been removed, it is no longer needed. The technician took the unit with him, thinking it was company owned, I bought it off ebay. Told him to return it. The other thing is, from the postings I see on this board, I am wondering how much longer the older receivers I have (I own one of the 622s and the 211) will be supported ? If they become unsupported will I be able to get any money back selling the things on ebay ? And the switch (I forget the model number) will anyone be interested in buying it ? Just wondering. The main reason I stuck with dish was my investments in the equipment. If it is now worthless (or soon will be) I may go FiOS. Looking for some opinions. Thanks.

I don't think you're screwed......:brush: those receivers are supported by dishTV and from what I've read should be in the foreseeable future. !pepsi!Giving a unit you own to a tech is odd......get your stuff back, call and start the conversation.:biggthump dishTV will be around for a long time.....the just signed up again with FOX.....!pride

622 and 211 are currently being leased by DISH so they are definitely not unsupported and probably won't be for some time into the future. The switch is probably a DPP44 which is still in use. The older the equipment becomes the more the retail value will drop. The value a year in the future will be less than today but how much will depend on the market at that time.

Thanks for the update. I did not know the 622 and 211 were still being leased. That makes me feel better. And yes, it was a DPP44 - I just have to keep calling the tech until he brings it back - he took it without my knowledge - I did not notice it gone until he already left. And yes, I get that the longer I keep them the less they are worth. I was just trying to cut my losses if it looked like dish was dropping support for those units.

Several times I have had DISH take my personal gear, once a mad dash out the door before I realized what was going on, and it was hell getting it back. Mostly after many calls and arguments with CSRs/Retention, I would only get a current market value price credited to my account. For some having the gear back is more valuable. But my last go around when they switched me from the 1000.2 back to my old two dish set up, two years after the tech that installed my first 722 said I "HAD" to have the 1000.2, which was not true and he took my DPP44 and the lot, DISH supplied all new gear in the new "re"install. But I think the Duals that they used, were used and are now failing. I'm getting drift to the tune of e –5-6 on 110 & 119. 129 is strong and consistently good. Far better than it was with the 1000.2.

So it's anybodies guess as to what you'll get and what you'll have to do to get it back.
