I am a a Dish customer from 1997 and now have 722 DVR. We moved from Texas to Vermont a few years ago and into a new house. I used Dish mover to have a tech come out to the new house and install our system. The install occurred when there was snow on the ground so the dish needed to be mounted on a tree.
At that time it was using 721 SD unit.
Since then we upgraded to the 722 so the tech installed a second dish on the roof for 61.5 HD dish. It all worked well enough.
So earlier this year I called dish to have the dish (110, 119) on the tree moved up to the house.
The tech came out and tried to find a place on the house to mount the dish. The only place that had a chance was at the peak of a roof about 50' up and not an easy install. We discussed options and the tech said he could replace my 2 dish setup to one dish that would point to new sats. some old some new at 61.5, 72 and 77. I said this is a no brainer. With only one dish there is no separate switch and the cable runs are simpler. One cable from the dish to the splitter at the receiver to feed both inputs.
Since then I have noticed fewer drop outs then we experienced with the old 2 dish configuration.
