Where will the channels be?

DISC-HD.............(110 & 148 & 61.5 now, 105 ultimately)
ESPN-HD............(110 now, 105 ultimately)
HDNET................(110 now, 105 ultimately)
HDNET-MOVIES...(110 now, 105 ultimately)
HBO-HD..............(148 & 61.5 now, 105 ultimately)
SHO-HD..............(148 & 61.5 now, 105 ultimately)
CBS-HDW...........(148 now, 105 ultimately)
CBS-HDE............(61.5 now, 105 ultimately)

Am I correct?
When will we no longer need the 148/61.5 slot for HD programming? When Superdish comes out?

fizgig,

Realistically, it will be some time after superdish is available that all HD content is serviced from the 105 slot. The first targets for moving will be those on the wing sats (61.5 and 148). Sometime after that they would move the 110 HD channels to 105.

There's no way they'll remove the 61.5/148 channels until after there's a significant installed base of Superdish, my guess is not before June of 2004. I don't have any inside information on that date, so take it for what it is.

I'm hoping that the surpises in store for us when going Superdish are HBOHD E+W Feeds, SHOHD E+W Feeds and BravoHD. Then, when available StarzHD, StarzED and CinemaxHD.

I would actually expect them to put every HD channel on 105 as soon as the super dish comes out. That way they do not have to put an extra dish out at a lot of locations. But, I would expect them to continue to mirror the HD on the wings for 6+ months and the 110 for at least 4+ months until DPP44 switch comes out.

Mike,

Until we can check 105 out, it's hard to say :D

So as far as HD programming goes we should never need to pick up four slots, as is capable with the soon to be released DP-44 switch? Just those that get stuck with locals on one of the flag birds?
