This is an SD-DVR 40 with a replaced hard drive (80 I think). Had it for quite some time now.
Recently it had pixelation and sometimes freezes. I chalked it up to weather and some power blips.
The freezing is beginning to happen more frequently, but here's a possible twist.
I added a new HD DVR to the family and needed to install a SWM. HD boxes are happy and this is running off the legacy feeds. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I figured that the folks in the forum might have useful thoughts.

The SWM is about 50 feet from the Hughes DVR and the power inserter is 40 feet from the SWM. It's about 75 feet from dish to SWM.

The Hughes will reboot and run OK for a day or so.

Hard drive? Tuner(s)? Install problem with SWM?

Thanks, Skippy

It's a known problem that popped up on the Tivo-based DVRs a few weeks back ....

Tivo and DirecTV are aware of the problem and working on a fix being tested by a few folks now. So I suggest you do nothing at this point.

Litzdog911,
Thanks for the reply.
After reading a couple of pages of the link you provided I can see that many of us with these older DVR's had the same thought that it was a hardware problem.
Interesting that it appears to be software related.
Will wait and see.
