I find it interesting that DISH is not making the new HDTV channels appear in the guide until after you sign up for the package. On movie channels that you don't subscribe to, you can see that the channel is there, what is on the channel, while it is highlighted in red temping you to buy the channel. However, they have chosen not to do that on the new HDTV channels.

I may be a little cynical here, but maybe if people saw the content of the channels first they wouldn't buy it. Discovery HD preview looks nice and tempting. Is there a technical reason why they would not at least let you see the program information in the guide for these new channels?

Considering that a lot of people have needed a hit to get them to show up, its likely that they will be in your 6000 guide soon.

The 6000 receivers should see the channels in the program guides. However, Dish generally does not allow program information be shown on equipment (or areas) that cannot get the channels. This is to prevent people from calling in and trying to order the programming when they are unable to get it with their present equipment.

Some might say that Dish is missing a marketing tool, but in the case of HDTV programming, but the vast majority of folks out there don't realize that a minimum of $200 in equipment cost and a one year commitment to the HD package AND at least AT50 is required to get this package! Imagine the happy customers on the other end when they find this out! That's why they wont show up on the average receiver. :-)

See ya

Do you have the 8PSK module? The channels were hidden until I received mine a couple of days ago.
