Dish receiver with DirecTV dish?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm not sure what I'd search for.
Can a Dish receiver be used with a DirecTV dish and vice versa?
My friend was given a DirecTV dish and would like to use it in her RV, but use her Dish receiver from the house. Would this work?

Yes it will...However, you can only pick up one satellite (110 or 119). The 119 satellite will pick up all of top 50 & 100.

My 61.5 dish is a Direct TV dish.
