I've looked through some other threads but I don't seem to find a clear answer to this. The question is does the Dish 6000 that has the 8PSK adapter still need the DishPro Legacy adapter in order to use DishPro LNBs? Some post imply since the 8PSK was developed after DishPro came out, and it replaces the satellite connection on the Dish 6000 it has the support in it and the legacy adapter is not required anymore. Can someone please clear this up for me??? Thanks - Rick

You will need the legacy adapter.

Hopefully, it will be provided free as part of the Superdish upgrade, but we'll have to wait and see.

If you have DishPro LNBF's and a DP34 switch (ie. the initial Superdish configuration), then you need the legacy adapter. If you use a DP+44 switch (available 2004) then you will not need an adapter. The adapter makes a DP34 switch look like an SW64 to the legacy STB.

Yesterday when I called about the new 6000 deal, the CSR said that it comes with the DishPro adapter. I talked to 3 different CSRs since various answers were making sense. 2 of the CSRs did not seem to know what a DishPro adapter was. One kept trying to sell me an 8VSB adapter which I do not need. If anyone has received the hardware on the 6000 I would appreciate knowing whether it came with the DishPro adapter.
