Does anyone else that has the 6000 receiver hooked up to a 1080i RPTV have problems viewing ESPN HD? This the first 720P channel that I have run through the 6000 with my Pioneer RPTV and it looks like crap! I looks like the 6000 is not correctly upconverting this channel. Currently I am using the Component outputs from the 6000, but considering using the RGB to see if that fixes the issue. Unfortunately if that does fix it I have a problem since I use the RBG input for my HTPC!
Just wanted to check before I made that move.
Thanks,
Steve

Welcome to ESPNHD. Where they stretch all SD content to fit your screen. It has nothing to do with your TV or the 6000 receiver. I would rather have it in 4:3 and decide on my own what (and how and when) I would like to watch the picture. At least its 720p so it looks a bit sharper than an SD picture, but it does look funky.

What I am seeing is not even stretching problems, it looks like I am missing every other line almost like the 6000 is trying to interlace the signal, but doing it completely wrong. Everything is totally unwatchable on ESPNHD. I even waited until there was supposed HD content, but it looked just as bad as the stretched SD content.

you may have the "usual" 6000 problem with a 720p signal.
goto menu, 6, 1, 9 select adjust & move the picture slightly to the right or left. That should fix it.

Thanks! That fixed it! I never thought about it being shifted too far to the left or right.
