The crappy thing is I ordered it tues morning. But I guess its not when you ordered it, its when you have it installed.

The 6000 has been out of production since July 2002 when it no longer met FCC requirements it didn't do closed captioning on HDTV. The inventory they have been giving away is the last and apparently includes remanufactured products. If they won't have any available for two weeks it sounds like you will be getting a repaired unit.

Because it comes with a full warranty. If it goes bad Dish will replace it. If they have no 6000's left you then get a new 811 out of the deal.

How many people on this board got 508's for replacements when the 501's were no longer around?
If they have any reconditioned 6000's, you'll get that. If they have none, they will send you what is in stock that is "comparable", that being the 811.

They would most likely charge you the difference between the price ofthe 6000 and 811. I doubt Dish would let you get a brand new hd receiver for the price of an out of production refurbished hd receiver.

In that case, they might have to send you two 811's hehehe

So can someone explain to me why everyone else is getting their 6000s installed but I keep getting told that they are out and I will have to wait 2 weeks?

E* is not out of 6k's. just the office assigned your install. it does take some time for hardware to get re-routed.
