Toshiba hdtv

Does anyone know anything about the Toshiba DST3100 hdtv receiver? I know it is a new model, but does anyone have an opinion on it? i want to go to HDTV, as I already have a Toshiba 50" cinema series tv. Any suggestions?

Max, let me be the first to welcome you to dbstalk.com. IMHO, its the best place to learn about everything DBS related. Is this a DBS receiver or HDTV set top box? Try http://www.avsforum.com (http://www.avsforum.com/) for more info on non-DBS receivers.

I don't have a Toshiba receiver, but I do have two Toshiba flat-screen tv's (24" and 32") and both are excellent. If their other equipment is comparable, you can't go wrong.

The Toshiba dst3100 has a built-in direct tv tuner. The old model was the dst3000 and I heard that it had overheating problems. I figured since I had a Toshiba HDTV set, that I would go with the new Toshiba dst3100 hdtv receiver. Any thoughts on this decision or advice on direct tv hdtv tuners??
