Well the gremlins of a re-manufactured 6000 arrived tonight only 4 days after installation. Problem: Video failure. Now they have to send me a replacement but I have to pay the $14.95 shipping. Now I am starting to wonder if it is worth it. Will have to see what happens next as I am not too happy at the present time. I was just getting hooked on Discovery Theater.

Enroll in Credit Card auto pay and they will waive the shipping charges.

What mistake? If you have a beef with their billing, contest the charges with your credit card company. I have not had to pay ANY CC charges that I have ever contested (6 cases, all legitimate double charges or "recurring" charges I never authorized).

What's wrong with it? I have everything on autopay, it makes life easier.

It is more than a hassle than it's worth I have had 9 problems over the last 2 years with auto pay. And have spent hours on the phone with people that don't even sound like there from this country. I'm sure i'm not the only one .

Yeah more details would be nice. I've had auto pay for over a year and I've never had a problem. Not with Dish or any other company.

I've been on autopay since it's inception. No problems. I find it hard to follow their debits and credits when you add or change things sometimes (due to the fact that they bill in advance mostly) but it all seems to work out in the end.

I love it, one less bill to pay, and I get more Membership Rewards credits from American Express.

Yeah I don't get it. If you use the automated phone thing you don't even have to deal with the CSRs to change numbers and turn it on or off.

Dish has shipped me a replacement receiver and has waived all the associated charges and they are also sending the 8VSB module. If this does work out they are willing to make it right. I am going to wait on auto-pay in the event that I need it for another promotion.

If its a receiver you just got they shouldnt charge any shipping if it dies within about 30 days or so....

Make sure you review your Dish Bill with CC AutoPay.

Dish claimed that a CC autopay was rejected and charged me a late fee on my next bill. After discussions with a CSR they told me the payment was rejected and I would have to take it up with my bank. My bank claimed that no one had attempted to debit the card within a week of the supposed time and that Dish should be able to provide me with some kind of rejection number. Dish was not able to and after complaining to a supervisor they waived the late fee. Normally I never look at the dish statement because I assume it was paid.

Received a NEW receiver today. I was told that a video problem is very rare and they expected that the power supply would of gone bad. No matter what happened the Re-manufactured broke and I needed a replacement. I will get the warranty plan when the receiver gets near its 90 day mark in the event that something else should happen ie a power supply. They did not charge me the normal $14.95 and sent it out UPS 2-day Air.
