View Full Version : Any more word on new TiVo software release?

I saw a post several weeks ago that stated a new version of the TiVo software for DirecTV TiVo receivers would come out in August or September.

Does anyone know when the release will be, since September is almost over?

There are no upcoming software releases that I am aware of. Anything you heard was probably just a rumor.

I've heard "rummors" in the Tivo community that sometime in the first quarter of 2004 there will be an upgrade to version 4. These same rummors say that there will be support for USB-Ethernet connectivity and there are speculations it will also support streaming of audio, video and photos via a Home Media Option out-of-the-box, meaning different Tivo receivers will be able to share movies between themselves and also with your PC. Don't know how true this is but I'm hoping for the best...

and it will do the laundry, dishes, wash the car...pet the cat....whoops this is DTV we are talking about:) I am going to go to CC and pick up my third Dtivo....I REALLY hope the rumors are true, but all we can do is hope right now, because DTV will not tell anyone when a fix is coming down the pike, much less a whole new version. All we can hope for is TivoPony to post something more over on the community.
