anyone know what's up with this bird? lyngsat shows Echostar 4 at 157ºW as empty (white) on their charts and it's been out there for awhile. any clues what DISH plans for this sat? rumors?

I heard it was going to be leased by Starbucks for Phase two (http://www.theonion.com/onion3709/starbucks_phase_two.html).
Maybe someone in the west will point a dish at it and see if there is something there. It is at or below the hoeizon here.
I wonder if E will lease it to Voom?

Only carrier seen there - may be spectrum analyzer will show more.

Personally I think it and others are part of ongoing rainbow negoiations. If Es realtionship with sky angel were better it would just right for them. west coast coverage oif a low value bird.

9 degrees of separation.
A Dish500 sees 110 & 119. Differrence of 9 degrees.
148 & 157. Another difference of 9 degrees.
I wonder if you could take a Dish500 and see both of them?

hehe - yup.. 9 degrees - so you should be able to :)
But... Big "But" - IRD's software would have to support 157 bird (install menu, etc)
