I'm wanting to add a third reciever to my dish system, after going through these great forums I have learned I need a quad legacy LNBF and of course a new receiver. looking at around $200, maybe less if i picked them up from ebay.

Maybe I should pick up a second dish and receiver? would cost less? but I like the idea of the switches inside the quad lnbf's.

Now there is another solution. Drop D-ish and get a D-irect 3 room system for $15 delivered, and of course the programming commitment. (install myself)

never had any problems with dish.

are there any other advantages to switching from dish to direct? besides maybe the pain of dealing with dish CS after the horror stories i've read.

thanks

There are some good promotions involving a DirecTivo, two standalone receivers, and a Triple LNB Dish. What I would do is have this offer in my hands and then call Dish Network and see if they can make a offer to keep you. What's the worst answer they can give you besides "No"?

Dish has no promotions to add just a regular old extra receiver to your system? Surely they could charge you $50 or $0 and have you commit for a year to get another 301. It would reduce churn.

You also have the option of $149 for a 301. This would get you all of the switches that you need. I have also heard of customers getting remans for $69 that are fully warranted. Worst case, call and find out.
