Next Retailer Chat - Wed, Oct 22, at Noon Eastern
was announced at the end of Wed, Oct 1st Retailer Chat that i had opportunity to watch...

And what an informative Chat it was, lots of details, pictures, information about New upcoming equipment, Locals etc...
If any of you saw it or can still catch it and good at typing, etc - you are welcome to post some more details.. :)

BTW - upcoming Tech chat should be Very Informative as well, and it will be busy time for Dishnet Oct/Nov..

2 locals were just added Oct 2 - Memphis and Eugene... with i think 8 more to be available on Oct 16 at 105.. actually 7 i think, cuz the 8th one is Yakima and will be on Dish 500...
In any case i think they said 10 addtions before Oct 16..
So if Memphis and Eugene were already added - that leaves 8
Here are Oct 16th ones:
Albany, NY
Baltimore, MD
Boise, ID
Columbus, OH
Missoula, MT
Richmond, VA
Wichita, KS
Yakima, WA

So Jim said - they are going from 71 markets to 81 markets by Oct 16... And not done yet... More are coming before the end of the Year

Green Bay, Deluth - are signal interference from Canadian Satellite... (Charlie said - "do not give up on them yet, we are still testing there, but we might have potential problem")

Probably to allow a presell period. They can put out ads and stuff and install it in two weeks.

Plus, dealers maybe, can have those in their show-rooms up and running (good advertisement also) :)

Ok Duluth..sorry..

However it clearly states what's up with those...
a) they currently got problems or some problems
b) Do not give up on them yet
c) they ll be working to rectify those problems
d) they still hope to have those up for Oct 16th (or so)

I have been told by someone that puts up and runs towers in WV that he is setting up whats needed on the towers (the towers are already up) for putting the Charleston/Huntington, WV DMA up on Dish Network.

I don't think they need special equipment to put up on dish or directv it's just the station has to come to an agreement with dish or directv for carriage on their services. Any news on the wheeling/steubenville locals though. That's what's probably keeping more people in this area from dumping comcast and going with dish or directv is the fact that they can't get distant nets but also can't get locals.
