Hello everyone!

I have an spare dish sitting around, so i was wondering if i changed out the LNB with one that picks up the FSS signal, i could just use that instead of buying a superdish? I have a 6000 and dont really want to get dishpro gear if i can help it. Thanks for any info!

I don;t think anything except DISH'S equipment is going to work on their receivers to get 105 and 105 is going to be DISH PRO Technology,

i do not think so boba...
was stated already by many that 30 or so inch dish should be able to get 105 or 121 (just with a different type of LNB)
And even heard that one should be able to just connect the feed to the receiver or lets say use sw21 with some other Bird on it

What about subscription ? Is it required ?

The problem with using the extra dish is, it probably is an 18" dish and that is not big enough to get the signal from 105 reliably. A 1 meter dish is recommended by me. They are working on some interference issues with the SuperDISH on some transponders.

Hopefully, someone with a 105 ready receiver will test the switching configurations which might be similar to having a DISH500 Twin cascaded with an SW21 to add 105. While the SuperDISH installation is supposed to be DISHPro technology, it would seem that these legacy configurations should be supported for margainal signal areas. especially on the receivers which already have 4-sat legacy capability.

The Tech Forum may have some useful info about this problem.

John - i read at other forums that people already tried and succeeded with the feed by itself, with sw21 and other bird on the switch as well, etc...
And actually with sw21 and other bird, 105 worked smoother then if connected the 105's feed to the receiver, by itself without the switch...
With a switch for example it took less time to aquire a signal, etc...

About the signal streanth... maybe the can fix that "Canadian Interference" and/or turn up the transponders strenth somehow by the time or around the time when the channels become available to Subscribers...

The question is will they have software to support legacy switches and legacy lnbf's so one can have a legacy solution of the SuperDish if needed? Or is legacy software required in that they have software specific for DishPro or legacy?

You could have a seperate dish at 105 or 121 if you wanted to but by the time you figure on having such a large dish at that location, it would not make much sense seeing that you could have the same size dish pick up 105/110/119 or 110/119/121. You might as well have a SuperDish instead of another dish that size plus a Dish 500 (unless you want to take a Dish 500 camping/travelling with you and not the larger SuperDish).
