Samsung receivers

Hello everyone,

I'm so glad I found this site. We are new to Direct (barely over a
week) after 5 years with "E". So we are still learning.

My question is this:
Does anyone know how I can find the Samsung receiver code to program our Sony TV remote to recognize the satelite?
Called sony...no clue
Called Samsung....same thing...
Called Direct...they said use their remote but it doesn't let us use
all the features of the tv.
We even tried "trial and error" but to couldn't get it?
Does anyone else have the Samsung SIR S300W??

First you miss spelled pegasucs. If your SONY remote control was not manufactured with the Samsung code built in you probably can't program it to operate the satellite receiver.

go to your owners manual the codes are in the book I should know i have the same damm reciever


And your installer should have set the remote up for ya

The installer is not going to program his old tv remote to control the satellite receiver...if it is even possible to be done.

I'm in the same boat, I have a Hitachi big screen with PIP and the Direct TV remote doesn't take advantage of the PIP.

I want to program my Hitachi remote to work with my Samsung SIR S300W reciever, but in the Hitachi remote book, there is only one code for Samsung satelitte recievers and t doesn't work....

I looked on the Sansung website and the Hitachi website and found nothing on either one.....

I don't think it's impossible if it wasn't already programmed in, it's all infra-red, I can program my palm pilot to turn the TV on if I want to it's just a metter of having the right code, Samsung should know it. And I also agree that the installer will only set up the remote that comed with the box, and it's already programmed for it.

Any help would be appreciated...
