This is the second week in a row my 721 didnt record it as scheduled. Of course we backup record stuff on the 508s.

Any idea why it specifically doesnt like Ray oin my local KDKA but will record it OK on the west coast feed?

This is the only timer thats flakng out. Last week after it failed to record I removed and replaced it.

I am not complaining just curious if this is happenuing to anyone else and what might be causing it.

My 721 has recorded it just fine every week.

One problem I found with my 721, which was very strange. I can't record my locals on the 2 - 67 channels, but I can record them on the 8000 (or is it 9000) channel mirrors. I have no idea why this is. I just chalked it up to one more bug in the 721.

That likely won't help. Believe it or not, it is likely that you have ANOTHER bad receiver (or smartcard). The short recording is caused because the receiver thinks it is not authorized to record the program. It is a hardware problem so the software upgrade won't help you.

Give DISH tech support a call and ask to speak to an advanced tech. They can do a couple of things to determine what the problem is. Don't let them give you any story about not hearing about the problem before either.

I don't understand. Why can't you call them? I sure don't think the problem is going to go away on its own.

Ahh were tired of setting up favorites and my wife has 60 HOURS of recoded stuff to watch. I have about 5 hours just a few days old.

As long as ray is the only probem and we dont get a lot of minute recordings I will wait for something else to break because I know it will:(

Jen wants a new primary TV, but were broke right now. Having fixed up my other house for sale were trying to decide wether to sell it, or rent it again.

I fear my wonderful wife will go on a spending spree with whatever $ is left over.

Besiides its my retirement nest egg and i would like to hold onto it.

With all this going on satellite tv decisions are waiting for the bigger picture.
