I think I've now read just about every forum here and I think I finally figured out what I want to get out of Dish. But now I need some help figuring out where to go tot get the best deal and the best service.

I've always been a cable customer - and I just got a HD-ready TV. I borrowed a HD tuner just to see what all the hype was about - and now I'm hooked. I've also been using a friends DirecTV w/ Tivo and PVR is fantastic.

After extensive research I believe I need the 921 and the 522 for my whole house with a superdish and a good arial antenna.

So my question is, once all this new technology is available (hopefully 11/1?) and my locals become available (10/16?), where is the best place to go to get this set-up? And what kind of deal do you tink will be out there for a first time subscriber. I can always wait for DirecTV HD Tivo - but I'd rather not waste another season watching SD television with commercials!

Is the 921 & 522 coming out in full release - or is this something I need to pre-order ASAP to get one before too much "24" goes bt w/ out Enhanced widescreen?

Sorry this is so long - but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It still is unclear as to what deals they will be offering after November 1st. I would try to wait until around Thanksgiving when they come out with their XMas time offers. I doubt you will see any great deals on the 921 due to demand and the high cost to produce the receivers, but you may be able to get some kind of discount.

I would stay away from the Digital Home Plan though.... They have begun treating these customers as 2nd class citizens by excluding them from some of the better upgrade deals.

I got all my stuff from Dish Depot. Good price and excellent advice and service. fwiw, "Enhanced Definition" is nothing more than widescreen regular definition. It's either 480 lines, (sd), 720, (hd) or 1080, (hd). There exists no format or equipment in the US that puts out or accepts any other.
