Just wondering if anyone knows why ESPN didnt broadcast any of the opening night NHL games in HD?? The game was on ESPN-HD but I really don't think it was actually HD. If anyone knows a potential ESPN-HD schedule please let me know. I have checked ESPN.com and they have no NHL games on their schedule anytime soon. If you have any info on this, please fill me in. Thanks.
enforcer,
Refer to this schedule (http://espn.go.com/espnhd/schedule.html) for a listing of events in high-definition on ESPN-HD. AFAIK, ABC Sports has access to three HD trucks at the moment, which they are using for MNF, SNF, and the weekly college football game. It is my understanding that they have plans for a fourth truck, but I don't know whether that will happen this year.
Until they add that fourth truck, you won't be seeing many (if any) NHL and NBA games in HD on ESPN until the regular college football and/or NFL seasons are over.

HDNET will show 65 or so NHL games in HD this year.

I saw the Hd commercial a couple of days ago. But my questions is will any of those games will be blackout?
Complaining about NHL opening night! The MLB playoffs do not even have HDTV, or even Fox Widescreen, due to football.
'[Off topic] I bet my Cubbies would be kicking your NHL team's *** ratings wise!!

Cubs have been to the playoffs several times in the past 95 years. Last time was in 1998 I believe, so check your facts before bashing the Cubs with your non-existant knowledge of baseball history.

Not only that, but they have been in many World Series over that time. They won the National League title a ton of times, but not since 1945. They have been in many National League Playoff games as noted, but didn't win the pennant.
1907 - d. Detroit in 5 games
1908 - d. Detroit in 5 games
Won the NL Pennant in 1876, 1880, 1881, 1882, 1885, 1886, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1910, 1918, 1929, 1932, 1935, 1938, 1945.

I am not even going to get started on what I think about baseball. I refuse to cheer for a team that has a "star" player named Sosa. The day his little cork that fell out of his bat just reassured me of his lack of team spirit and how about ethics!! BullSh*t about him picking up the corked bat and saying he "honestly" did not know. Well, Sammy ol Boy, you did! It makes me wonder how many of those home runs in the past were legitimate. LIke I said before, don't get me started on baseball and what i think of it. I will say however, I was a huge baseball fan until teams (mainly upper management) booted out great players just so they could save a few million. I really could care less about baseball now due to the negativity that has surrounded the sport the last few years.
adkinsjm,
I may have made a mistake about the playoffs and the cubs. I will always admit to my mistakes. I was wrong. Just setting the record straight. No hard feelings.
