I was surprised to receive my first DTV offer last night. I have not been a sub nor have had DTV equipment in over 18 months. I was offered the NFL package + total choice + locals + all movie nets for 6 months at $33.99 per month. Unfortunately, I had to tell the CSR that she was late by 7 months as E* had called me in the spring to offer 3 free months if I came back + I have an investment of > $1,000 in E* equipment. The CSR was willing to authorize 1 Tivo + 2 basic recievers for free, however, I would have to purchase 2 additional receivers to replace the E* equipment.
I was very tempted to take this offer, however, I don't want to switch over again.
What I though was interesting is the CSR told me that D* has a new program where they are paying $25 for old receivers/cards that are turned in. E* should jump on board with this to cut down on piracy!!
