Movie list

I have all the channels turned on for a few months and I want to be able to pick the best ones to watch. I don't watch PPV's. I know I can search for them but I also want a rateing for them.

there are sooooo many in the list that it is hard to find good ones. Just wondering how people are finding the movies they want to watch?

This morinig, on the web, I was tring to find a list of movies on the main channels and paste the interesting ones into a move rating web site. Hard to find just a plan txt list. Everything is so filled up with pics, links etc.

I would like a list of just which movies are playing for the month. The Tivo can find when to record them.

There must be a better way?

I do a Title Search, category movies, type "A" and now I have an alphabetical listing of all movies in the guide (up to 10-14 days worth). You can also choose a sub category like "Sci-Fi" or "Comedy" and it will use a filter and only show you movies in that category.

Another good way is to use the Tivo Showcases (found in the first menu after you hit the Tivo button). Just about every movie channel has a showcase and you can browse through their new movies and picks. Some showcases are good, some are bad, but it's another listing of movies anyway.

That's pretty much what I do.

I don't remember seeing the showcase item you are talking about. Do the DTivos have this feature? Will look again when I get home tonight.

Yep, all Tivo's, including DirecTivo's have it. It's called "Tivo Showcase" or just "Showcases" or something like that. If you hit the Tivo button it will be a couple items below your Now Playing menu item. This is also the same area that movie previews, the NFL game highlights and also the ads are in.

Showcases should be on the DTV central.

But if it's not there don't worry. I had to wait about 3-4 weeks befor it showed up for me. So just wait and it will get updated at some point.

Does this get updated by the phone or satelite? Still have not see it yet.

Sat. I think most stuff comes on chan. 582(I think. It might be diff.)

I also get stuff recorded on the discovery chan at about 2am. That is where I had NFL highlights and a trailor for the new movie "Elf"
