View Full Version : Software upgrade for HD-200?
Does anyone know if Sony plans to make any upgrades available for the HD-200 receiver so that it will output HD and SD at the same time? I heard the new HD-300 will do this and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to buy a new receiver in order to get this feature.
P.S. I apologize if I've posted this already. I thought I had but I didn't find it out here.

I copied this from a post on agoraquest.com.
"DTuner is partly right....it mostly has to do with what kind of receiver you have more then the signal coming in. If you are using a sony, you can set up what kind of output you want to your TV...where you can choose an all 1080i output for any kind of signal thats being fed in, although SD signal will not be 1080i, the picture will be a little better. But if you are using a different HD receiver, like the Hughes E86, you have no choice, since the component connection will only output 1080i only if the channel is sending HD signal, and all other regular SD signal, 480i or 480p."
Sounds like it's already there to me, however, the list of features in the HD-300 includes "Simultaneous HD/SD delivery" but that may have been added just in the description just because some others don't.
