Anyone else catch Mark Cuban's keynote address this morning on HDNet?
Interesting even if it was basically just a sales pitch for HDNet in disguise as a keynote speech. Lots of interesting tidbits about what's coming down the pipe as far as HD programming etc.
I liked it when he said point blank they would never down-rez anything or turn copy protection (on) any of their content. He was all for HD PVR's
Also made a point about how long it would take to try to convert an HD movie on a home computer and put it on the net. (basically forever)
Good joke about HDNet not going into the HD Adult movie business. He said he watched a bit of HD Adult movie (strictly as a test of course) and said believe it or not, somethings DO NOT look better in HD!
Should be repeated, catch it if you can worth the time.
Note to Mark: Dude your a billionaire now. Get a decent hair stylist!
Note to ibglowin:
Dude, it's "you're", as in "you are", not 'your'. Get a decent education in English!

enforcer - learn PROPER WRITTEN English - it's how we are communicating around here...
And none of that crap about "but it's only the internet" - good writing is good writing - period.

You seem to think that I care? This is a totally informative board and I see no signs posted that we must use "proper written" English. Certain individuals choose to type certain ways, however that DOES NOT mean people talk that way in "real life" . It's jargon to its fullest extent. So instead of being an English professor and telling us where to dot our eyes and crossing our "T's", give us useful information.
By the way, you never begin a sentence with "and" you moron.

Um excuse me....
I was making a joke in case anyone is interested. Seems to have fallen flat here. I believe its perfectly acceptable to use the word "your" in this sentence under the context it was written. My English may not be the "Queens" but I've (as in I HAVE) certainly seen worse.
Cheers,
Cyclone

Actually, no. The word "your" is a possessive pronoun. Your (another possessive) sentence is trying to say "you are" and that contracts to "you're." To top it off, you need to place a pause between Dude and your, which is called a comma. Your sentence should look like one of the following:
1) Dude, you're a billionaire now.
2) Dude, you are a billionaire now.
There is a good site that explains your and you're at this location:

Now, that, is the Queen's English......
You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Some of the joys of the internet are the anonymity and relaxed attitude about most rules and/or customs. This is the only forum I have ever seen grammar and punctuation are an issue. Keep in mind the next guy who zips thru a real difficult installation on your behalf may have dropped English and grammar in Tech school but is great at what he does. Conversely, my Bachelor of Science degree from UCONN has alowed me to express myself pretty well when I try but you certainly dont want me on your roof installing anything!! We are all good at something and putting our thoughts into written words does not come easy for some people; this doesnt mean they dont want to be involved...because everybody has something to offer. Please take your noses out of the sky and allow us all to say it the way we want.
