An article in my local Sunday Los Alamos (aka: Lost Almost, NM) Monitor states that Comcast Cable (in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Los Alamos) has doubled the download speed on their Broadband internet. The download speed has been doubled from 1.5 to 3 Megabits! Folks in case you don't know, thats now a T1 line into your house! All you have do to get the faster speed is unplug your cable modem for 1 minute and then plug it back in.

Just tried it out. Went to DSLreports.com and did a speed test. Got 1.67 Mb before. Unplugged for 1 minute and reconnected and did another speed test and I got 3.1 Mb download !!!!!!!!!!!!

Upload speed is unchanged at 256k however. (sorry)

This makes my decision to switch from QWEST DSL last month to Cable look even better! :D

FYI, a T1 is 1.5 Mb upstream/downstream... So you were better than a T1 before they doubled your downstream, in one direction :) Still 1/6th of a T1 in the upstream.
