We just built a new house and were told by the cable company that we would be able to receive cable. After six months, still no cable and no sign of ever getting it. We decided to get satellite TV through Dishnetwork. They came out and installed the dish. We got three receivers installed. They also installed a SW34 multiswitch from dishnetwork because there were only two RG-6 cable running to the outside of the house. The switch is mounted inside my leviton structure media cabinet. There are 2 cable run from this media center to all rooms of the house. We have six TV's that we watch (only a max of three at a time). I want to backfeed a TV to each of the installed receiver in addition to receiving my local channel though a OTA antenna. Can someone give me guidance on how to do this or point me to a web site that will show exactly what I need to do. The installation tech said I could do this with diplexers and splitter rather easily but when explaining it to me his final words were once you have everything in hand it will come easy. I just don't want to make a mistake and mess it up.....
Thanks for any help you can provide

First Off - Is there a channel 3 or channel 4 in the area ?
#2 - Do you want the remote TV's to simply tune to ch3 / ch4, and still be able to tune the local OTA channels ?
#3 - 1 satellite receiver to 2 TV's correct ?
Answers to these will help alot.

1) There is a channel 4 but no channel 3.
2) I would like the remote TV's to be able to view the same channel as the TV with the receiver including local OTA. I would rather have the remote TV's have the option to view local OTA channels independently but if it's a big hassle that not a problem.
3) Yes 1 satellite receiver to 2 TV's but a total of 3 receivers and six TV's if that make sense.

OK this is going to get a bit long winded, but what you want to do IS possible (but not cheap)
I'm going to tell you how to hook up ONE receiver / 2 TV combination, just duplicate for the other 2.
Materials needed -
2 DBS Diplexors
1 SC3 Signal combiner (an ordinary splitter won't cut it here - it HAS to be these Signal Combiners)
In the media center - put one diplexor between the SW34 and the receiver (using the SAT input of the diplexor). Hook the channel 3 input of the SC3 to the TV connector of the diplexor. Connect the OTA into the "All Channel" connector on the SC3. Connect the OUTPUT of the SC3 to the secondary TV.
Back at the satellite receiver - put the 2nd diplexor between the wall and the SAT IN connection on the satellite receiver. Take the RF OUT from the satellite receiver and hook it to the TV connector on the diplexor (if you are using the RF out for the close TV, then use a splitter first - one out to the close TV, the other to the diplexor).
By the time you have all this hooked up for one TV, you should be ready to test.
This setup gets you 1 satellite receiver to 2 TV's. There are better (and more expensive) ways to get multiple receivers to multiple TV's as well as incorporating remote operation. If you want more information on that, I'd suggest going here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=36 and see and ask questions about modulators / distribution systems.

I have the diplexers already. What does the SC3 signal combiner do for this setup? What would happen if I were to use a regular splitter?
My original plan was to connect a splitter between the receiver and the input of the near TV and then connecting the second RG-6 to the the splitter and then using a barrell connector in the distribution panel to connect the remote TV's RG-6. What kind of multiple problems would this cause?
Thanks for the information. You're being a great help.

My assumption was that you were using the 2nd RG6 at the satellite receiver for the OTA at that location. You could just as easily put the OTA down the TV side of the splitter (and break it out at the other end). Then also use the 2nd RG6 like you said. I was also assuming that you may want the 2nd TV to be able to tune the OTA separately from the satellite receiver.
The SC3 corrects a problem witrh trying to combine a ch3 modulator with a ch4 OTA signal - there is some filtering built into the SC3 to minimize this interfernce
